Massar Egbari Announces New Album and Single

Egyptian underground band Massar Egbari is working on a new album and preparing to release a new single.

The single titled, "Sorry" serves as the finale of their 2022 mini album “Nos El Hagat” and is set to release soon.

The band's frontman Hany El Dakkak shared the news in an interview on the sidelines of their concert at the first edition of the New Alamein Festival on Friday.

El Dakkak also expressed his great happiness about his performance at the Festival, saying: "We are very happy that we are performing at the New El Alamein Festival, it's a great festival and very famous artists sang in it," he said.

"The festival is very beautiful and the place is beautiful and touristic. I think you need to come here and attend a concert as the place is amazing and Alamein is so beautiful,".

The festival will run from July 13 to August 26, under the title "Alalam Alamein" (Alamein World).

Massar Egbari, which means “Compulsory Detour”, is one of the most famous and oldest singing groups in Egypt and the Arab world.

The band was founded in 2005 and consists of Ayman Massoud, Hany El Dakkak, Ahmed Hafez, Tamer Attallah, and Mahmoud Siam.

Massar Egbari tackles social problems with their music, inserts a mix of Alternative Egyptian Music, and blends rock, jazz, and blues with some Oriental music.

In 2011, the band was honored by UNESCO in Paris.
