The final of the Campeonato Mineiro between Cruzeiro Esporte Clube and Clube Atlético Mineiro turned into an unforgettable scene of chaos and drama, as Cruzeiro secured a narrow 1–0 victory but the closing moments were overshadowed by a massive on-field brawl.
The decisive goal came in the 60th minute through Kaio Jorge, who scored the only goal of the match to give Cruzeiro the advantage.
However, the match took a dramatic turn with just 30 seconds remaining in stoppage time. Cruzeiro winger Christian collided with Atlético Mineiro goalkeeper Everson while chasing a rebound, sparking a heated confrontation that quickly escalated into a full-scale altercation involving most players from both teams.
Referee Matheus Candançan was forced to halt the match for more than 10 minutes as tensions flared, with Brazil’s military police stepping in to restore order on the pitch.
Although the game concluded without any player being sent off during play, the controversy deepened after the official report was released.
The referee issued 23 straight red cards to all players involved in the clash, marking one of the most bizarre and chaotic incidents in Brazilian football in recent years.
