New details have been emerged on the Ocean's Eleven prequel.
The prequel is in the works with Barbie stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.
According to Showbiz 411, the movie has received an official title, "Oceans", a reference to the roles played by the two leads.
Robbie and Gosling will reportedly play the parents of George Clooney's Danny Ocean from Ocean's Eleven and its sequels.
According to the report, the movie will follow the Oceans teaching Danny and daughter Debbie (Sandra Bullock) how to steal from the rich -- with a special team assembled to help them out.
As a prequel, "Oceans" will reportedly be set in the 1960s, specifically Monte Carlo in 1962. Of course, the is expected to set up what will become the Ocean's trilogy, consisting of "Ocean's Eleven", "Twelve", and "Thirteen", along with the previous spinoff, "Ocean's 8".
Jay Roach is reportedly set to direct.
"I can’t really say much, but I think we’re just trying to do right by the franchise," producer Joey McNamara told GamesRadar+ of the prequel at the BFI London Film Festival.
"I’m excited for people to experience it when it’s ready... [Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling] are wonderful together. The more projects even outside of that we can have them do would be amazing."
Robbie and Gosling reunite for Oceans after co-starring in "Barbie", which is the highest-grossing film of 2023, and one of the most successful movie releases of all time.
After debuting in July, the film would gross more than $1.44 at the worldwide box office.
It has also been acclaimed with reports that it could make a splash during awards season, and Gosling is said to be in the running for an Oscar nomination for his role as Ken.
A release date hasn't yet been set for Oceans.
