Zamalek president Mortada Mansour has blasted on Sunday Algeria's coach Djamel Belmadi and Manchester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez.

"Algerian people have nothing to do with Belmadi's remarks, in which he criticized the Egyptian fans," Mansour said.

"60,000 Egyptian fans were at Cairo stadium supporting Algeria," he added.

Algeria managed to end their 29-year wait for an Africa Cup of Nations title by beating Senegal 1-0 to win the tournament in Egypt.

Following the win, the Desert Warriors coach said that he did not see any Egyptian fans supporting them during the AFCON final.

It is worth mentioning that AFCON final clash was held in the presence of Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, alongside Algerian interim president Abdul Qader bin Saleh, FIFA President Gianni Infantino, CAF chief Ahmad Ahmad, and Egyptian Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi.

The Desert Warriors were awarded $4.5 million by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), while Teranga Lions were handed $2.5 million.
