On Sunday, Manchester United announced that their defender Lisandro Martinez sustained an ACL injury which will sideline him for the rest of the season.
The star was taken off on a stretcher during their defeat by Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Man City said in a statement: "Assessment of the injury is ongoing to determine the appropriate course of treatment and the timescale for his rehabilitation,"
"Everyone at Manchester United wishes Lisandro Martinez strength for a successful recovery and we will be supporting him every step of the way."
Martinez's absence was described by Amorim as a "serious situation," especially, amid his attempts to improve the squad of the Old Trafford side.
The last defeat is the seventh for Man United this season.
