According to the company’s website, engineers are working at full speed to address the technical problems.
The disruption has affected regional train services as well as the S-Bahn electric trains in the Rhine-Main area, with widespread delays expected.
The company, DB Regio, has also reported that the cyber-related issues are causing extensive disruptions to train schedules, leaving passengers frustrated.
Efforts are underway to restore normal operations as quickly as possible.
The disruptions come at a time when train travel in Germany remains crucial for millions of daily commuters, particularly in busy regions like Rhine-Main.
Passengers are advised to check for updates and anticipate longer travel times until the issue is fully resolved.
