The Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Nevin Gamea, and Ali El Moselhi, Minister of Supply inaugurated the “Made in Egypt” exhibition held in Juba from 13 to 16 July, in the presence of James Wani Igga, Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan for Economic Cluster.

Gamea explained that the exhibition represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences comes within the framework of the government's strategy to double Egyptian exports to foreign markets, especially the African one.

She added that it also came to activate the trade agreements signed by Egypt with African countries to facilitate the movement of intra-trade and overcome obstacles that may impede the movement of joint trade, noting that the South Sudanese market is one of the  promising markets that has great potential for Egyptian exports in various productive sectors and service.

The minister pointed out that the bilateral relations between Egypt and the State of South Sudan are witnessing during the current stage an unprecedented momentum at the official and business levels between the leaders, officials and businessmen, the latest of which was the visit of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the end of November to Juba.

She stated that the exhibition includes exhibits by 27 Egyptian companies in the sectors of food industries, home appliances, ready-made garments, medical supplies, mills, flour products, services and logistics, as well as a pavilion for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA).

It also includes handicraft products, including clothing, leather, furniture, and antiques made of copper and seashells.

The opening was attended by the Ministers of Trade and Investment in the Government of Southern Sudan, along with Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), and Mohamed Kedah, Egypt's ambassador to South Sudan.
