Madbouly Arrives in St. Petersburg

Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, and Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, arrived in the Russian city of St. Petersburg earlier today. Their visit is part of a delegation representing the heads of the Joint African Initiative, established to contribute to the resolution of the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

Madbouly is heading the Egyptian delegation, representing President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, the President of the Republic.

The Joint African Initiative delegation includes heads from South Africa, Senegal, Comoros, and Zambia, as well as representatives from Uganda and the Republic of Congo. In addition to Egypt, the African delegation is set to hold a discussion session today with Russian President Vladimir Putin, to present elements of the Joint African Initiative aimed at resolving the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

This meeting follows a session held yesterday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which was followed by a joint press conference.
