The office of French President Emmanuel Macron said in a statement on Sunday that the French president had invited Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani, in a phone call, to a meeting in France in early 2023.
The statement pointed out, according to news agencies, that the two leaders agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation, and that France would assist Iraq in its "war against terrorism and attacks on its sovereignty".
