Macron: Egypt is a strategic partner for France

French President Emmanuel Macron thanked President Sisi and the Egyptian government for the warm welcome he received upon his arrival in Cairo. He said, "I warmly thank president Sisi for hosting us and for his generosity in this country. I am delighted to be with you in Egypt, this great country and partner of France."

Macron added, in a press conference with President Sisi at Al-Ittihadiya Palace: "I appreciate the friendly relations between Egypt and France. Egypt is a strategic partner for us, and I am pleased to see that this close relationship has been embodied today in the signing of a strategic partnership agreement. For my part, I will continue to work to strengthen this partnership."

He pointed out that there is a firm will to contribute to the development and prosperity of Egypt and the Egyptian people, adding, "France always stands by Egypt to support the 2030 Agenda for Development through investments from French companies and European bilateral and multilateral assistance."
