Political sources in Tel Aviv revealed that the head of the Constitution Committee in the Israeli Parliament (the Knesset) Simha Rotman, who manages the implementation of the government plan and who is one of its architects, participated in an internal meeting with a group of right-wing activists in the American Republican Party.

The Israeli lawmaker admitted that the government does not have any intention to cancel the implementation of the plan.

"The Israeli government led by Netanyahu will fall if its plan to reform the judiciary is not passed, because there are parties in the coalition that put the plan at the top of their preferences," Rotman said, according to Maariv newspaper.

Both the Israeli President, Isaac Herzog, and his US counterpart, Joe Biden, insist on conducting the internal dialogue for the purpose of finding a compromise on the government’s plan to overthrow the ruling system and weaken the judiciary.

A public opinion poll revealed that 61% of the Israeli public doubted Netanyahu's intentions to suspend the measures. This is what made more than 225,000 Israelis come out with a demonstration on Saturday the thirteenth.
