Lovren Sends Farewell to Salah

New Zenit St. Petersburg signing Dejan Lovren has sent his former Liverpool teammate and close friend Mohamed Salah a farewell message following the closing of his transfer to Russia.

Since joining Liverpool in July 2017, Salah has developed a strong friendship with Lovren which appears vividly through the duo’s pictures from the Reds’ training sessions. Moreover their humorous posts on social media, in addition to the 26-year-old forward highlighting that Lovren is his closest Liverpool teammate.

Upon the official announcement of his move, Salah appeared in a short clip on Liverpool’s official account on Twitter where he bid farewell to his Croatian friend and wishing him the best in future endeavors.

“I don’t want to show too many emotions because I’ve already been crying before the last game. They saw that I felt the emotions,” Lovren said on Liverpool FC Twitter account.

“Especially also leaving Mo, my good friend. It was something special but like I always said, it’s just the beginning of a big friendship, even when we’ll be far apart.”

“knows he can always call me for whatever reason, I’m always here for him. It’s not just Mo, it’s all the people at the club – the staff, medical staff,” he added.
