The London Book Fair (LBF) organizers announced the postponing of the 50th edition to June 2021. The exhibition will last from June 29 to July 1 after it was canceled last March due to the spread of COVID-19 in its first wave in Europe.
"We have made the decision to move LBF to June 2021 to create the best opportunity of hosting a live event," LBF new Director Andy Ventris mentioned in a press release.
“Given the dynamic nature of the pandemic we will continue to closely monitor the situation, and if the current outlook changes will make a final decision on the live event’s feasibility by the end of March 2021 at the very latest," he told Publishers Weekly.
"We want to give all our partners, exhibitors, and visitors this date to work towards, as we appreciate how much planning and resource goes into preparation for a trade fair of this scale," he added.
The organizers are doing their best to create "a safe event environment that meets the needs of visitors and exhibitors," Ventris continued.
The exhibition has various sectors such as Children's and Young Adults, Authors & Self-Publishing, Academic & Scholarly Publishing, Rights Buying & Selling, and many others.
There are also a number of conferences, awards, and certain zones of discussions are held on the sidelines of the festival.
LBF is a large book-publishing trade fair held annually in London, England. It is a global marketplace for rights negotiation and the sale and distribution of content across print, audio, TV, film, and digital channels.
