Liverpool rebounded against Aston Villa after a late Sadio Mane strike saw them rebound from a goal down to win 2-1 and maintain their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League over defending champions Manchester City.

Villa stunned the Reds when Trezeguet gave them a 21st-minute lead at Villa Park getting one up against his fellow Egyptian National Team fellow Mohamed Salah.

The midfielder fired in following John McGinn’s free-kick, with the goal being issued after a video assistant referee check. The Reds had a Roberto Firmino strike cancelled by the offside margins via VAR before Tom Heaton somehow kept out Mane’s shot from two yards out.

An out of form Salah headed over before being hauled off, while Adam Lallana wasted a shot well wide when it looked easier to score as Liverpool tried to pressure their opponents

The second half began in very much the same vein, with Henderson notably culpable in lacking precision in the final third while both Mane and Salah were decidedly off-colour in front of goal.

Villa missed a vital chance to upset last year's runner ups through substitute Conor Hourihane, but Liverpool’s pressure finally got tense with three minutes to go when Robertson got in behind the Villa defence and beat Heaton.

With just seconds remaining ,Liverpool sealed a remarkable late win when Mane glanced an effort home from a corner.

At same time Manchester City were able to rebound against the ambitious Southampton 2-1, maintaining the six point difference against the Reds. The two English giants are set to clash next Sunday November 10th in a high stakes man that could very well decide the early winner of the Premier League.

Below was both Teams' line-ups for the match:
