Iconic journalist and transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano discussed the future of Mohamed Salah with Liverpool.
Several rumours sparked about the future of Salah with the Reds after the latest dispute with the head manager, Arne Slot. This came after Salah was brought on as a substitute for just 15 minutes during Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League group-stage match against Eintracht Frankfurt, which ended in a 5–1 win for the Reds.
He also removed his profile picture on the social media platform “X” (formerly Twitter), which had shown him wearing the Liverpool shirt.
He replaced it with a personal photo featuring his two daughters and deleted the words “Liverpool player” from his bio, leaving only “Lives in Liverpool.”
According to Fabrizio Romano, in remarks published by the British outlet "GiveMeSport," “There are no negative feelings within Liverpool toward Mohamed Salah after what happened following the Eintracht Frankfurt match.
Romano described, "the Egyptian star remains an essential part of the team and the project.”
He added, “Liverpool understands that Salah is not going through his best period, but the club continues to support and trust him. There are absolutely no problems.”
Romano continued, “Liverpool’s management is not worried after Salah removed all Liverpool-related references from his social media accounts, even though some sections of the fanbase fear this might be a sign of anger or thoughts of leaving.”
He concluded, “Liverpool still considers Mohamed Salah a key part of manager Arne Slot’s plans, as the Dutch coach aims to win the Premier League title for the second consecutive season.”
