A few minutes ago, the speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh arrived in Cairo, heading a parliamentarian delegation, to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation relations between Egypt and Libya.
Last week, Saleh chaired the parliament session, during which, the Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid al-Dbaiba and the ministers at his government took oath of officees.
During hus speech, the HoR Speaker stressed the need to remove mercenaries and foreign forces from Libya and support the electoral process, stipulating that the government has to serve the people, improve citizens' living conditions, and most importantly rebuild Libya's state institutions.
He pointed out that the dialogue among the Libyans has resulted in the government of national unity, and that the Libyan people endevour to move beyond the painful past and end thier pision.
Libya has been in a state of turmoil since 2011, when a NATO-backed military campaign overthrew longtime leader Moammar Gadhafi.
The North African country descended into a civil war between the Tripoli-based GNA and the eastern-based Libyan National Army (LNA), led by Khalifa Haftar.
