Libya’s First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, met with the U.S. Chargé d'Affaires to Libya, Jeremy Berndt, to discuss ways to support "Libyan-Libyan" consensual solutions for resolving the political crisis in the country.
According to the spokesperson for the House of Representatives, Abdullah Bliheg, in a statement to Libya's "Al-Wasat" TV on Monday, Al-Nuwairi and Berndt reviewed the latest developments in the Libyan political crisis and ways to push towards holding presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible, aiming to resolve the crisis through Libyan-led efforts.
Bliheg added that the meeting also addressed the need for UN mission assistance and support in limiting external interference in the crisis, while endorsing Libyan-Libyan agreements and solutions.
