RC Lens claimed the French Cup title for the first time in club history after defeating OGC Nice 3-1 in Friday’s final at the Stade de France.
The match was played without Egyptian defender Mohamed Abdelmonem, who missed the final for Nice.
Florian Thauvin opened the scoring for Lens in the 26th minute before Odsonne Édouard doubled the advantage shortly before halftime.
Nice pulled one back through Jibril Coulibaly in stoppage time of the first half to keep their hopes alive heading into the break.
However, Abdallah Sima sealed the victory for Lens in the 78th minute to complete a historic night for the club.
Lens finished the Ligue 1 season as runners-up behind champions Paris Saint-Germain F.C., while Nice ended the campaign in 16th place with 32 points.
