Korea, Egypt Seek to Expand Economic Cooperation

Korea Ambassador to Egypt, Hong Jin-wook met with Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aty, Minister of water resources and irrigation on to discuss ways to expand economic cooperation between two countries involving Korean companies.

Ambassador Hong and minister Abdel Aty shared ideas to promote cooperation in line with the Egyptian government’s endeavor to enhance water management.

Ambassador Hong pointed that the Egyptian government’s large-scale infrastructure development aimed at improving the welfare of the Egyptian people is very timely while emphasizing that the Korean side is ready to cooperate.

In particular, Ambassador proposed working-level consultation between Korean Embassy and the Ministry to explore bilateral cooperation.

He mentioned Korean government could provide a soft loan and Korean companies with globally recognized in this field are willing to participate in Egyptian water projects, Minister Abdel Aty recognized the well-known reputation of Korean companies’ high-quality technology and expressed his intention to discuss details for possible cooperation in the water management sector
