North Korean leader Kim Jong Un undertook to boost mutual ties with China, he sent a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping, North Korea's KCNA reported on Sunday.
The letter of Kim Jong Un came as a response to an earlier letter of Xi which included Xi's congratulations on the anniversary of the founding of North Korea's state.
The Chinese President expressed his keenness to enhance cooperation and communication with the North.
In his responding letter, Kim said: "I believe ... the DPRK-China friendly and cooperative relations would steadily develop in conformity with the requirements of the new era and the desire of the two peoples in the future."
