Karim Abdel Aziz Lands Leading Role in TV series “El Ekhteyar 2”

Synergy, the production company for TV series “El Ekhteyar” (The Choice) announced the leading actor for its sequel.

The production company revealed that Egyptian actor Karim Abdel Aziz will be the leading actor in TV series “El Ekhteyar” (The Choice), which is set for premiere in Ramadan 2021.

There is a lot of unknown information, however, it is slated for the series to be directed by Peter Mimi.

The first season co-starred Amir Karara as martyr Colonel Ahmed el-Mansy in the series. El-Mansy was the commander of Sa’ka Forces (Thunderbolt Forces) battalion 103, who was martyred with several other members of his battalion on July 7th, 2017.

The series featured many celebrities making guest appearances including Ahmed El Sakka, Diab, Ahmed Khaled Saleh, Ahmed Salah Hosny, Mohamed Emam, Maged El Masry, Eyad Nassar, Asser Yassin, Mohamed Ragab, and Karim Mahomud Abdel Aziz.

Ahmed El Sakka was the last guest to appear on the series. He played the military prosecutor who is interrogating terrorist Hisham Ashmawy ‎(played by Ahmed Elawady).

It also starred‎ Sarah Adel, Dina Fouad, Ahmed Fouad Selim, Mahmoud Hafez, Diaa Abdulkhaliq, Abed Anani, Ehab Fahmy, Enaam Salosa, Afaf Rashad, Islam Jamal, Hazem Samir, Maha Nassar, Ashraf Meslehi, and others.

The TV series is written by Baher Dowidar, and directed by Peter Mimi.

The 42-year-old actor has received wide recognition for his outstanding performance from day one, following its premiere during the holy month of Ramadan.

They were killed during clashes between Egyptian army forces and militants in a terror attack launched on an Egyptian armed forces checkpoint in El-Barth Village, Rafah, North Sinai.

Karim Abdel Aziz upcoming projects

Abdel Aziz will resume shooting his new movie “Kira & El Gin“, in the coming weeks. The movie shooting started before the holy month after Ramadan, however, the production was halted since the actors were busy with shooting productions for the holy month.

It is directed by Marwan Hamed, and starring Ahmed Ezz, Ruby, Hend Sabry, Sayed Ragab, and others.

The film, produced by Synergy films, is based on the novel “1919” by Egyptian author and screenwriter, Ahmed Mourad.

The Tunisian actress embodies a unique role, different from what she has presented in the cinema through the last period.

Hamed, and Ahmad Badawy, the managing director of Synergy Films, had held a working session with Abdel Aziz and Ezz to hash out all the final details before resume shooting.

Also, they laid down a plan to start and finish the shooting, for that the movie would be ready to be screened in cinemas after the coronavirus outbreak comes to an end.

1919 is a thought-provoking, fast-paced, information-packed historical fiction set to the actual events of a significant era in Egypt’s history.

Ezz’s latest artistic work is film “Welad Rizk 2”; Abdel Aziz’s latest artistic work is film “El Feel El Azraq 2” (The blue elephant 2).

The outbreak had suspended the productions for movies that were slated for release during Eid Al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha movies marathon during the last period due to the necessary measures taken to stem the spread of the virus.

Moreover, Egypt’s Chamber of Film Industry had closed the cinemas as part of the preventive measures against coronavirus.

The outbreak had caused many productions to face an uncertain future, on top of those movies is Abdel Aziz’s “Some Don’t Go to the Authorized Twice”.

The movie’s producer Wael Abdullah has raised doubts about the existence of the Eid Al-Fitr movie marathon this year.

He unveiled a poster from the movie, which featured actor Bayoumi Fouad, and captioned: “The truth is I could not found someone better to put during the curfew “Some Don’t Go to the Ma’zoun Twice”… Soon, God willing .. But when .. Only God knows.”

“Some Don’t Go to the Ma’zoun Twice” also stars Dina El Sherbiny, Maged El Kedwany, and others.

It is written by Ayman Wattar and directed by Ahmed El Gendy.

It is worth mentioning that Abdel Aziz, born in Cairo, Egypt, on August 17, 1975. He was born into an artistic family.

He is the son of director Mohamad Abdul Aziz and nephew of film director Omar Abdel Aziz, while his aunt is the actress Samira Muhsin.

Both his father and uncle are known for imprinting on modern Egyptian cinema with their movies.

He starred in his first role at the age of five. Abdel Aziz graduated from the Cinema Institute in 1994.

Abdel Aziz began working at the Film Institute Department of Directing. In 1997, he served as an assistant director for a short time.

The actor’s patch at the Cinema Institute included Ahmed Nader Galal, Ahmed Samir Farag, Marwan Wahid Hamed, and Mohamed Ismail Shafei.

Abdel Aziz returned to acting with veteran actor, Ahmed Zaki 1997’s movie “Edhak Elsora Tetlaa Helwa”.

He was chosen by veteran actress Samira Ahmed for a role in the 1998 TV series “Emraa mn zaman el Hob”.

Abdel Aziz is married and has two children Malak, and Ali.
