US Vice President Kamala Harris contracted Coronavirus; however, she doesn’t suffer from any symptoms, the White House announced on Tuesday.

The US Vice President "will be isolated and continue to work from the Vice President’s residence," said Kirsten Allen, the spokesperson for Harris’s office.

Allen added: “[Harris] has not been a close contact to the President or First Lady due to their respective recent travel schedules. She will follow CDC guidelines and the advice of her physicians. The Vice President will return to the White House when she tests negative.”

The spokesperson highlighted that while Harris was in California last week, she hadn’t had any direct engagement with the President and the majority of the office staff.

Last December, the US Vice President tested negative for the coronavirus after being in close contact with a White House official who contracted the virus, a spokesperson announced in a statement on Wednesday.

Harris is fully vaccinated and tested on a regular basis.

The Vice President’s exposure comes days after US President Biden had close contact Friday with a “mid-level staffer” who then tested positive on Monday morning, according to White House press secretary Jen Psaki.

Neither the president nor the vice president tested positive.

In a statement, Symone Sanders, the vice president’s chief spokesperson, stated that Harris received negative results from antigen and PCR tests.
