Jordan and Oman affirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause and the necessity of reaching a just solution that ends the Israeli occupation and fulfills all the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people.
This was stated in the joint communiqué issued at the conclusion of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq's visit to Jordan last week.
Both sides welcomed the decisions by Norway, Spain, and Ireland to recognize the State of Palestine, considering it an important and essential step to affirm that the path to peace is the two-state solution, which embodies an independent and sovereign Palestinian state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative as the only way to achieve a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the region.
