Amanda Seyfried has teased that a sequel to cult horror-comedy "Jennifer’s Body" could be in the works.
Released in 2009, and written by Oscar winner Diablo Cody (Juno), Seyfried played a nerdy high schooler whose cheerleader best friend (Megan Fox) becomes possessed.
The movie was not a financial or critical success, nevertheless, it has gained a cult following over time due to a reappraisal from fans.
While attending the Toronto Film Festival for her upcoming project "Seven Veils", Seyfried revealed that a sequel is being worked on.
“I think we’re making [a second] one,” she told fans while signing autographs. When asked if that was an official confirmation, she replied: “I didn’t confirm it… I said, ‘I think,’” before winking at the camera and saying: “We’re working on it. We’re working on it”.
Seyfried, Cody, and Fox have all expressed their love for the movie over the years, as well as their enthusiasm to see a continuation.
In 2021, Fox discussed the idea of rebooting it for TV.
“I don’t think it’s a hard movie to make a sequel to,” Fox told The Washington Post. “I mean, they should make it into a TV series. That would be cool”.
