Italian football authorities have made a key decision regarding the venue of the Italian Super Cup, confirming that the tournament will not be hosted in Saudi Arabia in the upcoming season.
Lega Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo stated that the competition will not take place in Saudi Arabia next season, despite the fact that the country has hosted six of the last eight editions, including 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024–25, and 2025–26.
He also noted that a return to Italy in the 2026–27 season is unlikely, as other international destinations are being considered. The agreement with Saudi Arabia reportedly remains valid until 2029, but the league is exploring alternative venues.
According to De Siervo, potential options include the United States or other international markets, alongside the possibility of staging the tournament in Italy for one season.
The Italian Super Cup is played in a four-team format featuring the Serie A champion, the Coppa Italia runner-up, the Coppa Italia winner, and the league runner-up, with winners advancing to the final.
