Italian Deputy Prime Minister (PM) and Foreign Minister (FM) Antonio Tajani stated that Italy continues to work on de-escalating tensions in the Middle East, while ensuring the safety of its citizens and Italian forces in the region.
This came in a statement issued by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs during a videoconference held by Minister Tajani on Monday, amid his current visit to Argentina, with Italian diplomatic missions in Lebanon, Israel, and Iran to assess the situation in the Middle East.
Tajani emphasized that the conditions of all Italian citizens in the three countries are being closely monitored, noting that there is no imminent danger to Italians.
He also highlighted Italy's careful assessment of the situation along the Israel-Lebanon border.
