Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo Celebrates International Women's Day

On Tuesday, the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo, in cooperation with the Tahrir Cultural Center, presents today a distinguished concert by the “She Arts” orchestra, to celebrate International Women's Day, which falls on the eighth of March of each year, in appreciation of the efforts of Egyptian women and their great contributions to society.

At 8:00 pm, at the Tahrir Cultural Center. She Arts Orchestra will be conducted by the Italian conductor Isabella Ambrosini featuring the Egyptian harp player Manal Mohie Eldain and Italian soprano Ginevra Rizzi.

 During the ceremony, "Manal Mohie Eldeen" will play a group of the most famous international and Arabic pieces for the harp, while the soprano Ginevra Rizzi will present a selection of the most famous operas from the operas of Carmen, Mozart and others.

Through her distinguished career, Manal Mohie Eldain was able to draw people's attention to her and build a large fan base in the Arab world. She also represented Egypt in many festivals, most notably is the opening of the new Egyptian pavilion at the Louvre Museum in Paris in 1997.

For her part, Nevine Kenawy, founder of the “She Arts” orchestra, pointed out the importance of the orchestra’s continuity in presenting various performances while preserving international cooperation and cultural exchange in the future, highlighting especially the professional Egyptian and foreign female musicians in general, as well as inspiring others and gaining a wide fan base.

She also praised the role of the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo and the Tahrir Cultural Center for their ultimate support for this important event. Nevine Kenawy launched the second edition of the “She Arts” festival, in September 2022, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture. A group of female artists from Egypt and various countries of the world, celebrating women and their creativity, and promoting their inspiring projects at home and abroad.

The festival took the Tahrir Cultural Center as the main venue for the events, while some additional events were held in the Jesuit Cultural Center and the French Institute in Alexandria.

And as a continuation of the International Women's Day celebrations, the Italian Cultural Center in Zamalek is hosting a "yoga" session for women only, in appreciation and honor of the great achievements done by women on the social, economic, cultural, and political levels. On Wednesday 8th of March, at 5:00 pm.
