Israeli settlers attacked humanitarian aid trucks near the Tarqumiya checkpoint, west of Hebron, preventing their passage from the occupied West Bank to the Gaza Strip, and threw the contents of one of them on the ground, according to the Palestinian News Agency, “Wafa.”
Wafa indicated that video clips circulating on social media showed a group of Israeli settlers preventing trucks from advancing near the Tarqumiya checkpoint.
The video clips also showed settlers throwing the load of one of the trucks on the ground, to prevent it from entering the Gaza Strip.
Earlier today, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that restricting humanitarian access is a matter of life or death for people in the Gaza Strip, who are already suffering from continuous bombing and food insecurity.
The UN agency stressed the immediate and urgent need for safe passage for humanitarian aid and its workers.
