After the assassination of the Iranian nuclear scientist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, last Friday in Tehran, Israeli reports spoke of a state of alert in which Hezbollah is underway, especially its Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, who is taking cover in his place amid fears that "he is next on the US target list.

Al-Arabiya news reported that an Israeli newspaper mentioned that "Nasrallah canceled his movement schedule, and his security team advised him to stay in place, after the assassination of Fakhrizadeh in an operation attributed to Israel.

"Times of Israel" newspaper pointed out that "Nasrallah is an easy target for Israel for years, and some officials ridiculed him for his commitment to staying in a shelter and not appearing to the public except in very rare cases."

Fakhrizadeh's death sparked wide condemnation from Tehran, which accused the Mossad of responsibility for the attack, threatening retaliation, which prompted Israel to prepare for a possible Iranian response, placing embassies on high alert.

On its part, the Israeli army kept its normal routine, indicating that it did not expect an Iranian response in the form of an immediate military strike from Lebanon or Syria.

In an official statement, the Israeli army said that it is "aware of possible developments in the region, and will remain fully prepared against any expression of violence against us."

Iran had been subjected to many attacks in 2020, most notably the killing of the commander of the "Quds Force" in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Qassem Soleimani, in an American plane raid near Baghdad airport, last January, as well as a mysterious explosion in a centrifuge assembly building at the Natanz facility. To enrich uranium.

Later, Israel carried out two assassinations, one of them against a prominent leader of Al-Qaeda and the last of which targeted the Iranian nuclear scientist Fakhrozadeh.
