Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir announced that the army is preparing to soon move to the next phase of Operation Gideon, claiming that this phase will focus on intensifying strikes against Hamas inside Gaza City until a decisive military victory is achieved.
"The operation achieved strategic objectives," Zamir said in a statement reported by Israel's i24 channel. "Hamas no longer possesses the combat capabilities it had before the operation. The army inflicted heavy losses on Hamas at the military and infrastructure levels."
