Israel’s security establishment has been placed on maximum alert, with its military preparing for the possibility of launching large-scale attacks against targets in Lebanon, while maintaining close strategic coordination with the United States over a potential strike on Iran, according to Israel’s Channel 14.
The report said Israeli defense institutions are currently intensifying intelligence and operational efforts to identify high-value targets in Lebanon, as part of contingency plans for a broader escalation. The Israeli military is compiling a comprehensive target database in anticipation of a possible expansion of hostilities.
While no Israeli strikes have recently been carried out deep inside Lebanon, Channel 14 reported that a series of targeted assassinations were conducted over the past 24 hours against specific individuals. These operations are expected to continue in the near term as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt militant capabilities.
The report added that Israel is preparing for the possibility of a large-scale offensive should a political decision be taken, amid continued monitoring of attempts by Hezbollah to rebuild its military strength and operational capabilities.
Regarding Iran, Israeli defense officials reportedly believe that the United States could decide to carry out military action against Iran if current negotiations fail. Although no specific timetable for such an action has been identified, the channel said close security coordination between Israel and the United States remains ongoing.
