The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, confirmed that a United Nations vehicle was bombed in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the death of a UN employee.
"A UN vehicle was bombed, killing one of our colleagues and wounding another. More than 190 UN staff were killed in Gaza. Humanitarian workers must be protected," Guterres wrote on X.
He added: "I condemn all attacks on United Nations personnel and reiterate my urgent call for an immediate ceasefire on humanitarian grounds and the release of all hostages."
