Irish PM to President Sisi: We appreciate Egypt’s historical role in supporting Palestinian cause

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Simon Harris, the Irish Prime Minister, amid the president's official visit to the Republic of Ireland as part of his European tour.

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic said that during the meeting, the two sides emphasized that the two countries are keen to strengthen their bilateral relations in various fields, especially the economic field.

 the two sides also agreed to take concrete steps to benefit from Irish technological expertise in the industrial and communications , agriculture and the environmental sectors, in a way that achieves the aspirations of the two friendly peoples and their common interests.

The official spokesman added that the meeting also focused on the situation in the Middle East region, where Egyptian efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip were reviewed.

For his part, the Irish Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the Egyptian historical role in supporting the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people, praising Egypt’s tireless and wise efforts to calm the situation and achieve stability in the Middle East.

President Sisi also praised the courageous Irish positions in supporting the Palestinian cause.
