The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority announced the extension of a complete airspace closure over Iraq for all arriving, departing, and transiting flights for 72 hours.
According to a statement reported by the Iraqi National News Agency, the closure will take effect from 12:00 PM local time (09:00 UTC) on Saturday and will remain in place until 12:00 PM on Tuesday.
The measure is described as a temporary precautionary step.
The authority said the decision is based on a continuous assessment of the security situation and regional developments, and that the situation will be reevaluated according to any new developments.
This closure affects both commercial and transit flights across Iraqi airspace.
