Iran’s state-run rolling news channel Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN) has confirmed reports of strikes in Tehran on 28 February, after Israel described its earlier action as a "preemptive attack” against Iran, BBC reported
The broadcaster briefly experienced an audio disruption at around 06:30 GMT before resuming transmission.
It later displayed a scrolling ticker reporting plumes of smoke and the sound of explosions in parts of the capital.
IRINN subsequently aired pre-recorded footage of pro-government rallies set to music, alongside archival remarks from Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei urging national unity against what he described as “enemies.”
The channel also broadcast interviews with supporters of the Islamic Republic voicing opposition to foreign intervention.
The confirmation by state media comes amid rapidly escalating tensions following reports of coordinated Israeli and US strikes targeting Iranian sites.
