Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has issued a call to action for Islamic countries, urging them to sever economic ties with Israel and impose sanctions on the nation, including an embargo on oil imports.
President Raisi emphasized the need for these countries to compel the United States and Israel to halt hostilities in the Gaza Strip.
Speaking at an extraordinary joint summit of the League of Arab States (LAS) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Riyadh, he stated, "All means should be used to force America and the Zionist enemy to agree to an immediate cessation of violence."
Raisi further emphasized, "It is essential for Islamic nations to terminate all political and economic relations with the Zionist regime. In this regard, prioritizing a trade embargo against the Zionist regime, including withholding oil exports, is imperative."
Syrian President Bashar Assad had previously called upon Islamic nations to reduce their contacts with Israel, stressing the importance of tangible actions to halt the ongoing conflict.
He remarked that effective steps, not just rhetoric, are required to stop this war. Arab countries should, at a minimum, curtail all political engagements with the Zionist entity.
