Iran’s foreign minister on Tuesday accused the United States and Israel of deliberately sabotaging diplomatic efforts, saying recent joint attacks amounted to “blowing up the negotiations table out of spite.”
Abbas Araghchi said the U.S.-Israeli strikes were a hostile move aimed at derailing ongoing diplomatic channels.
“The American-Israeli attacks are a malicious explosion of the negotiations table,” Araghchi said, warning that such actions undermine prospects for dialogue and stability in the region.
The Iranian foreign minister also sharply criticized U.S. President Donald Trump, accusing him of betraying both diplomacy and the American electorate.
“Trump has betrayed diplomacy and the American people who elected him,” Araghchi said, adding that Washington’s policies were escalating tensions rather than seeking peaceful solutions.
His remarks come amid heightened regional instability following a series of military exchanges involving U.S. and Israeli forces and Iranian-linked targets.
Tehran has repeatedly warned that continued strikes would have consequences and has maintained that it remains prepared to respond to what it describes as aggression.
