Iran said it maintains control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz and claimed it had carried out strikes on Israeli military and intelligence facilities, as regional tensions continued to escalate.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said the key shipping route remains under Iranian control, according to remarks reported by Al Qahera News.
The official also described a recent incident at Port of Salalah in Oman as “highly suspicious,” without providing further details about the nature of the incident.
Meanwhile, the Iranian military said it had targeted Israeli facilities, including the Palmachim Airbase, the Ovda Airbase, and the headquarters of the Shin Bet.
The statements come amid intensifying confrontation between Iran and Israel, raising concerns about a wider regional conflict and potential disruptions to global shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical passage for international oil trade.
No immediate confirmation or comment was available from Israeli officials regarding the reported strikes.
