Iranian and Iraqi foreign ministers have strongly condemned the desecration of the holy Quran in Sweden.

In a phone conversation on Friday, Hussein Amir-Abdollahian and his Iraqi counterpart, Fuad Hussein, described the incidents as an insult to rationality and freedom of expression, and condemned the Swedish government's irresponsible behavior, according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

The two sides emphasized the need for a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to discuss this important issue.

This incident comes amid rising global tensions and increasing divisions between cultures and religions. It reflects the high sensitivity of Islamic countries regarding the glorification of the Quran and the noble biography of the Prophet, and underscores the importance of dialogue between cultures and religions to promote mutual understanding and respect.
