The celebrations of World Space Week (WSW) kicked off today in more than 70 countries around the world. People around the world celebrate science and technology and their effect on human life from October 4th till October 10th.
The United Nations General Assembly announced the World Space Week as an official annual celebration on December 6th in 1999. The celebration was set from October 4th till October 10th to identify two of the most important dates in space history: the first is launching the first-ever satellite on October 4th, 1957 while the second is signing the Outer Space Treaty on October 10th, 1967.
The main focus of this year’s World Space Week celebration is the satellites and their great benefits.
The World Space Week celebration is the biggest annual space event in the world. It focuses on inspiring young students as well as educating the public about the different sciences and technology especially the space ones.
