Indonesia expressed its deep concern about the escalating situation in the Middle East, urging Iran and Israel to exercise restraint in the wake of the missile attack launched by Iran on Israel on Saturday evening.

In a statement, Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs asked United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to respond quickly to avoid escalation of  conflict and prevent its spread in Middle East region.

The statement stated that Indonesia urges UNSC to act immediately to calm tensions and continue working to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East.

Furthermore, Indonesia also stressed that a just settlement of the Palestinian issue by achieving a two-state solution will be the key to maintaining regional stability.
