“IMX/CE 2022" Large-Scale Int'l Exercise Concludes

The activities of the Middle East region’s largest maritime exercise, “IMX/CE 2022,” concluded on February 17. 

The large-scale exercise took place at the scope of the southern fleet in the Red Sea, with the participation of Egyptian Naval forces.

The training included a set of different naval combat activities, including exercises to confront atypical maritime threats and joint protection exercises for a vital target at sea.

The International Maritime Exercise/Cutlass Express 2022 is the largest multinational training event in the Middle East, involving 51 nations and international organizations committed to enhancing partnerships and interoperability to strengthen maritime security and stability.

Among the participating nations are Comoros, Djibouti, Georgia, India, Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Tanzania, the United Kingdom (UK), and the United States (US).

This came within the framework of the joint exercises conducted by the Egyptian Naval Forces with the world navies to enhance the combat capabilities of the naval units and their crews and make them able to face challenges in a way that contributes to supporting maritime security and stability in the region.
