The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Wednesday that Russia’s withdrawal from the agreement that allows Ukraine to export gains across the Black Sea will worsen the crisis of world food and may inflate prices of food commodities, especially for low-income countries.

A spokesman for the IMF indicated that the world financial institution will continue monitoring the delicate, current developments in the region of war in Ukraine along with repercussions on world food security.

It is worth noting that Russia declared last Monday suspending her participation in the grain initiative which allows the flowing of Ukraine’s exports of grains to countries in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

On the other hand, Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Kremlin (the Russian presidency), announced over a telephone conference with pressmen, that Russia will return at once to the grain imitative when her demands are responded positively.
