Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mahmoud Mohieldin praised the economic measures taken by Egypt during the outbreak of the pandemic.
Mohieldin added that these measures contributed to strengthening the Egyptian economy and supporting it in overcoming any negative repercussions of the crises.
This came during his meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Wednesday to exchange visions and ideas on a number of important economic files.
On his part, Madbouly congratulated Mohieldin on his new post in the IMF, stressing that the appointment confirms the confidence of international institutions in his experiences, and anticipating that it would support Egypt in international forums.
The prime minister pointed out that cooperation frameworks will be activated in various economic files during the current stage.
It is noteworthy that Mohieldin was elected as an Executive Director at the IMF and representative for Egypt and the Arab Group on Oct. 19.
