In conjunction with Christmas Week celebrations, a YouTube channel called Ancient Egypt shared a vintage footage showing a traditional Christmas celebration in the 1930s.
The resurfaced clip dates back to December 1933 and showed children enjoying the Christmas Eva and foreign groups decorating a bright-lit Christmas tree with baubles and ornaments.
Most places in Egypt have a spot where crowds gather at major events. In Giza, the earliest documented gathering on New Year’s Eve was in 1933 at the Pyramids when people came to see the fireworks celebrations.
