“Humanity” Doctor Salah Sorour Passes Away in Alexandria

Dr. Salah Sorour, Professor and Former Head of the Department of Chest Diseases, Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, died on Sunday morning.

Sorour was the husband of Mrs Hoda Mohamed Hassan Arafa, and father of Karim and Sarah Salah Sorour, Director of Public Relations in the office of Mostafa El-Feki, Director of the Library of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

The funeral will take place after the noon prayers at Al Mowasah Mosque Mosque in Alexandria, and the pavilion will be held on Monday in the hall of General Abdel Moneim Riad, in front of the new Alexandria governorate building.

The late doctor strongly believed that the medical profession is based on humanity and relieving people’s pain; therefore, one of the most important characteristics of a doctor must be a human being. He also said the profession is all about mercy and helping those in need.
