Hot, Humid Weather Prevails Across Egypt on Friday, Cairo 33°C

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts hot and humid weather will prevail in most of the country during Friday's daylight hours.

Extremely hot weather is also expected to prevail in the South Upper Egypt.

The weather will seem hotter due to the high humidity levels, which will push up the heat index by 2-4 degrees.

The country will also witness mist, extending into fog, on agricultural and highway roads in Cairo, North Coast, Lower Egypt, Canal Cities, North Upper Egypt, and Central Sinai.

Wind will occur occasionally across the country.

There is a chance of light rainfall hitting intermittently in the Northwestern Coasts and North Lower Egypt.

Furthermore, the Mediterranean Sea will experience turbulent waves ranging between 2.5 and 4 meters in height with northwest surface winds.

Waves in the Red Sea will be moderate, ranging between 1.5 and 2.25 meters in height with northwest surface winds.

Maritime navigation is also expected to be disrupted in the Gulf of Suez, with winds averaging 40 to 60 km/h and waves ranging between 2:3 meters.

There will also be a disruption of maritime navigation in Marsa Matruh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El Shaikh, Dakahlia, Damietta, and Port Said, with winds averaging 40 to 70 km/h and waves ranging between 2.5:4 meters.

Moderately hot and humid weather is also expected to prevail in Egypt at night, turning moderate in the early hours.

There is a chance of light to moderate rainfall hitting intermittently in Alexandria, El Alamein, and Marsa Matruh.

The predicted temperatures for the following cities are 33°C in Cairo, 30°C in Alexandria, 28°C in Marsa Matruh, 37°C in Sohag, 39°C in Qena, and 40°C in Aswan.
