Helwan University President Congratulates Artist Essam Darwish on Winning the Sultan Qaboos Award

Dr. El-Sayed Kandil, President of Helwan University, congratulated artist Dr. Essam Mohamed Sayed Darwish, Professor of Sculpture at the Faculty of Art Education, on winning the Sultan Qaboos Award for Culture, Arts, and Literature in the field of sculpture, as part of its twelfth edition for the year 2025, which this year was dedicated to Omani and Arab artists.

Dr. Kandil emphasized that this well-deserved recognition reflects the distinguished status of the university’s artists and highlights the pioneering role played by its faculty members in enriching the artistic and cultural movement both within Egypt and beyond. He added that Dr. Essam Darwish’s works embody creativity and authenticity, immortalizing figures from Egypt and the Arab world through remarkable sculptural works that will remain enduring testaments to the greatness of Egyptian art.

He further noted that Helwan University takes pride in the achievements of its talented members, considering this honor a new addition to the university’s record of success and excellence at both the national and international levels. He also wished Dr. Essam Darwish continued success and creativity in his artistic journey.
