The Egyptian actor Ahmed Helmy called, Saturday, communities to support Egypt women's U-20 national football team, who were being bullied on social media.

Helmy posted a picture of the team on his Facebook page, captioned with motivational words.

Ahmed Helmy's Statement

“This is Egypt women's national football team. A few days ago I read words, aimed at bullying them,” Helmy wrote. “Those words can only hurt people who are frustrated, weak-minded, or those who have zero confidence in themselves.

“These women are not in a state of frustration or weakness, but rather have confidence in themselves,” he stressed. “They have hope and a dream to achieve a victory for their team and country.”

He called on the community to support them, hoping they do not get bullied again.

On his part, the team coach Ahmed Ramada attacked everyone who bullied his players following their win against Lebanon.

In its first-ever match, they beat Lebanon 3-1, thanks to a Nadia Ramadan hat-trick.

Following the game, the players were victims of misogynistic behavior on social media, as many men were bullying and sexually harassing them, with no good reason.

They were bullied for being women and playing football, which was ridiculous and immoral.

Ramadan came to his team’s defense, attacking these bullies, hailing them for their historic achievement.

“The girls are well educated, well cultured, and they perform honorably, although they trained with me for only 50 days, they want to do something for Egypt,” Ramadan told OnTime Sports TV.
