Ministry of Health announced that the climax of the fourth wave of COVID-19 in Egypt will start in a week, RT reported on Sunday.
Therefore, the authorities urged all residents to strictly follow all protective procedures against COVID-19 including wearing facial masks and applying social distancing.
However, the ministry highlighted that the number of reported infections, and deaths during the fourth wave is still fewer than the recorded figures in the previous waves.
Regarding the most common symptoms of the infections, they are fever, headache, tiredness, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, aches and pains, coughs, a rash on skin or discolouration of fingers or toes, and congestion.
Moreover, the ministry called all residents to register for the COVID-19 vaccine in Egypt to help in controlling the virus infections.
It highlighted that it targets vaccinating 40% of Egypt's population by the end of the year, asserting that all vaccines are free, active, and safe.
It is worthy to mention that Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 831 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 311,576, on Saturday.
The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 17,658 nationwide after the ministry announced 39 deaths.
About 611 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 262,654.
